🏅 Coach’s Kid

💥 Zing! Boom! Tararrel!

Some of us were not born athletic. (And that's okay.)
You don’t have to be a varsity letterman to love sports entertainment.
Humans have competed in games for centuries. (some more brutal than others) ⚔️

Whether it’s the roar of a pro stadium or the timeless charm of a local tee ball field in your folding chair, sports offer one thing we all need more of: pure, unscripted joy.

Behind the sweat, cheers, heartbreak, and laughter, it’s a front-row seat to humanity in motion.

Quiet on set! Roll sound. Camera ready?  Action!

🐇 Leaping Little Leaguers

Ever seen little leaguers in helmets larger than Dark Helmet from Spaceballs on their pencil thin necks?  Something similar to a life size bobblehead running on the field.

Their older sibling hand-me-down pants are sagging, picking up dandelions in the outfield, not realizing the ball went right past their feet.  Almost like living in a Pixar short film first hand.

Pure, unhinged comedy gold.

👟 "We Still Got It!" (Kind of…)

Do you see activities and think “I could totally crush it out there?”
Guilty as charged- Adam (Becka knows when to waive the white flag.  Smart) 🏳️

Whether it's Rec League softball, sand volleyball or gashing up your knee at your second Soccer game in almost 20 years, (True story bro) it only takes 10 seconds before our legs remind us we are no longer feeling 22.

Squatting? Not unless it’s to pick up Lego’s, Hot Wheels or Golden Books scattered on the floor.

No wonder these league’s serve beer. 🍻

Honestly, I’d pay good money to see an “Average Joe” lane next to Olympic athletes.

Imagine your neighborhood dad attempting the long jump.
He makes it 3 feet, collapses in the sandpit, and the pros leap over him like gazelles.

Or the school volunteer mom struggling a doggy paddle halfway across the pool while Katie Ledecky finishes her fourth lap.

NBC Sports venture capital pitch here we come!

🌌 The Try-Walker Saga

Ahhhhh the infamous family walk.  🐌

What should take about 15 minutes going around the block, turns into a 1-hour marathon.
A scraped knee, 6 new rock collections, 3 meltdowns, and zero progress.

It’s no longer a hike, it’s a hostage situation with demands for snacks and sippy cups. 🥤
These odysseys lead to a crisis of spirt for all to “enjoy”.

But here’s the plot: this is just our kids teaching us how to slow down and appreciate the little things.  They have this wild ability to force us into the moment. Into the now (thanks Garth 🤓)

In a world screaming for speed and productivity, this is the best kind of rebellion... built on hope.

Soon enough they will hop on their bikes with friends and leave you in the dust 🥺

Stop and smell the roses, people! 🌹

🎯 The Real Win Isn’t the Trophy

Summer baseball just ended (fall ball tryouts here you come!)
Fall soccer & football starting next week
Winter basketball is around the corner…

The early years are supposed to be fun. Before it turns into travel teams, too much pressure, and parent politics, time to supersoak it all in.

Reality check: According to statistics, your kid probably won’t make it big.

But it’s not about going pro, it’s about growing up.
And that’s perfectly fine. Sports are about so much more:

  • Building friendships

  • Learning leadership and time management

  • How to win, lose, and bounce back

  • Staying physically active and mentally strong

Participation in sports is linked with higher graduation rates, lower substance abuse, and reduced anxiety/depression according to behavioral studies

Let them play. Let them grow. Be their biggest fan, without the pressure. ❤️👏

Don’t let them settle on living in a van down by the river.

🚨Alert!  Do Not Be That Parent

For the love of all that’s holy.

Every sideline has one.  It’s just one game, not the World Series.

Let the coach coach.  Let the kids play.  Leave the ref/ump alone
Your role: Applaud and root, root, root for your side.  That’s it 🙅🏻‍♂️

🗣️ Everyone knows what I mean.  No need to elaborate.  😇

⚾ These ARE the Good Old Days

Take them out to the ball game.
Take them out to the crowd.
Buy them some peanuts and Cracker Jacks (wait, do they still make those?)
They won’t care if they ever go back (but they might actually)

Cheer when your team wins.
Snap those photos like a mid-action baseball card.
Laugh when the kids spill ketchup and mustard down their shirt.

Whether you have a 5, 15 or 25 year old, they will never be as young as they are now.

Let them see that healthy competition and good sportsmanship matter.
Let them see YOU having fun, too.  Not just a little, but a whole barrel of fun.

Because one day, these will be the times we’ll cherish most.

These ARE the good old days.

Building character and supporting growth through sports?
-Now That’s B.A. 💪

Someone That’s B.A 🏒🏌

Adam Sandler | Comedian | Husband & Father

If you haven’t seen Happy Gilmore 2 yet, you either don’t have a Netflix subscription because of the local proximity changes or you live under a rock.

He has been mastering comedy for 30 years now wearing whatever outfit he feels comfortable in without caring about outsider opinions.

Living completely unbothered and still kicking out epic #1 movies while helping out your friends and lovingly taking care of your family in the process, I now know why I looked up to him since elementary school. Tap Tap Taperooo

Something That’s B.A 🥅

Ever since our 6yo “B” (turning 7 in 2 weeks) became infatuated with soccer, we knew we had to provide him with an outlet for constantly asking to kick it around in the backyard.

Putting this together was easier than a finding a trophy in Messi’s house. Up in 2 minutes and down in just the same. With a carrying bag for travelling and super lightweight, it surprisingly takes the blunt force of a powerful, dominant footed strike with no sweat.
